About Emily.

My values and vision for the community are grounded in my commitment to education, activism, and social justice. For nearly 25 years, I have dedicated my professional career to organizations that serve the greater good and the Greater Philadelphia community. I have extensive experience in communications and fundraising, as well as knowledge of local and state government, budgeting, personnel management, strategic planning, and board oversight.

I am currently Director of Development for the Pennsylvania Prison Society, the nation’s oldest humanitarian organization that works to ensure that the incarcerated population of Pennsylvania is treated with dignity, care, and respect. I am also a proud board member of the Cheltenham Education Foundation, a volunteer-driven nonprofit that provides scholarships to Cheltenham High School seniors and innovative teacher grants to expand programming in our public schools. As the mother of three sons who are currently in three different schools in the district, you will often find me sneaking treats into the staff lounge, serving up walking tacos at the high school band competitions, or cheering from the sidelines at any number of sporting events.

I am dedicated to building a stronger, more vibrant, more beautiful, and more inclusive Cheltenham Township. I'm excited to work together to bring our best ideas to fruition.

Vision and Leadership for the Future

Core Values

I believe the township should prioritize PROJECTS THAT ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE for residents including improved road maintenance, trail improvements, and the planned revitalization of our libraries, pools, community centers, and administrative buildings.

I am committed to exploring Cheltenham's opportunities for ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. I believe that we need to reduce the Township's dependence on tax income by attracting new industries that align with our values and strengths.

I am committed to GOOD GOVERNANCE that is responsive, responsible, and inclusive. Transparency in local government begins with listening to constituents’ questions, fears, and ideas, and to acting in their best interests.

I believe that CLIMATE CHANGE is a real and pressing issue. Our efforts locally should focus on both mitigation and adaptation strategies to reduce emissions, promote sustainable practices, and prepare the community for the impacts of climate change. I also believe that we should take proactive measures to protect natural resources through conserving water resources and supporting organizations that provide stewardship education.

I am ardently PRO-CHOICE. I believe a woman should be allowed to determine when and whether to have children according to her own conscience and religious beliefs and without governmental interference. We must also ensure that women have the resources to have a healthy, safe pregnancy, if that is their decision, and that women and families have the resources to raise a child with security.

I am unequivocally for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community and everyone else to live and love as they please. I believe PUBLIC EDUCATION should be fully funded. I think it is more important to CONTROL GUN VIOLENCE than to protect gun rights. I believe assault weapons should be banned. I believe in the importance of DIVERSITY, EQUITY, and INCLUSION programs. I believe that everyone should have access to AFFORABLE HEALTHCARE. I believe that we are STRONGER TOGETHER, and that it is the responsibility of citizens to engage on the local level to promote responsive and accountable governing.
